Tonight was a real treat.
An outdoor patio at a local restaurant, on a evening with perfect weather.
And even after months and months of hanging out with the same person all of the time, I was still excited when my husband suggested we go out to eat tonight.
It felt nostalgic. Like old times. Like those days before the pandemic. Like an actual date.
For the last five months I've been opting more often than not to cook at home. Even as shelter in place orders lifted and restaurants started re-opening, I was cautious. I wasn't ready to just rush back out. Not ready to just pretend everything was okay.
But tonight felt different. It felt almost normal.
And a lot of us could use a little more normal (or what passes for normal) these days!
