Full disclosure. I miss my library! Badly.
Before the global pandemic, I would visit my local library at least once a week, sometimes more than three or four times a week.
Even though my library is still not open to the public (oh, I'm trying hard to wait patiently)...I probably have access to hundreds, if not thousands, of books, audiobooks, music, magazines, movies and TV shows. All through the Libby and Hoopla apps. Amazing really, when you think about it.
In the past (for the last two decades), I seemed to only grab books on tape (I know, aging myself) and books on CD when I had long car trips ahead of me. Now, our cars don't even have CD players in them. Oh, how times change.
This past Mother's Day, I splurged and bought myself a pair of high-quality bluetooth ear buds. I like them. A little more than I thought I would. And listening to audiobooks while doing chores and minding my own business (hard to do in a busy household!), seems more realistic than ever before.
A close colleague recommended a non-fiction book to me last week in an email. I found a one hour summary of the book as an audiobook in Hoopla today. I've already listened to it (for free).
I wonder what else I will find to listen to this weekend?
