I have a lot of work to do with my own listening skills; even after practicing, trying and cultivating for many, many years. This post is a reminder for all of us, that our listening skills could use some fine-tuning.
If you are client-facing in your role, getting good at this skill is a must.
Can you be a better listener than you were last year? Better than your competition is today? A better listener than others will be tomorrow?
One of the easiest ways to improve the ability to listen well, is to stop multi-tasking (collective sigh). Nearly impossible some days for some of us. But, giving full attention and being fully present can make a huge difference here.
